Anime vs Anime! Combat Guide: Manual Controls and Auto Fight
Learn the keyboard and mouse controls for manual combat in Anime vs Anime!, and find the battle HUD toggle for switching to Auto Fight.
Quick answer
To fight manually, use the keyboard and mouse controls below. Switch between manual control and Auto Fight with the AUTO/CONTROL toggle at the bottom left of the battle HUD.
- A and D: move
- W: jump
- Left click or J: attack
- F: block
- Q: dash
- 1, 2 and 3: moves
- V: ultimate
- C: awaken
Anime vs Anime! is a 2D fighting game on Roblox where you can control your fighter yourself or set it to Auto Fight. The battle HUD displays a control legend to help you find the manual inputs.
Manual controls at a glance
The battle HUD control legend lists the following keyboard and mouse inputs:
| Input | Action |
|---|---|
| A / D | Move |
| W | Jump |
| Left click or J | Attack |
| F | Block |
| Q | Dash |
| 1, 2, 3 | Moves |
| V | Ultimate |
| C | Awaken |
The clip below opens on a 1v1 fight with this same legend on screen, so you can see where each input sits on the battle HUD before you try it yourself.
Use A and D to move and W to jump. For attacks, you can use either left click or J; F is the block input and Q is the dash input. The remaining inputs control your fighter's moves, ultimate and awakening.
Switching between Control and Auto Fight
Find the AUTO/CONTROL toggle at the bottom left of the battle HUD. Set it to CONTROL to play your fighter using the manual inputs, or switch it to AUTO to use Auto Fight. You can use the toggle during a match to switch between the two.
Manual control lets you play the fight yourself. Auto Fight is an option if you would rather focus on collecting instead of playing the fight. If your session is about opening packs and building up your roster, leaving the toggle on AUTO hands the match to your fighter while you get on with that. If you are reading this guide to learn the inputs, the opposite applies: stay on CONTROL, because that is the setting where the keyboard and mouse inputs above actually do something.
Fighter abilities and move cards
Anime vs Anime! has over 80 fighters from popular anime series, each with their own moves, ultimate and awakening. Get familiar with your current fighter's abilities when you change characters.
The battle HUD shows move cards numbered 1, 2 and 3, plus a separate V card for the ultimate. The V card also displays a charge meter.
Reading the battle HUD
During a fight, the HUD shows health readouts for your fighter and your opponent, with yours on the left and your opponent's on the right. A YOU tag marks your fighter, and a round timer tracks the fight. Combat markers such as NULLIFIED can also appear over the fighters.
The round result panel
When a round closes, a result panel is placed over the fight that names the winner along with their remaining health percentage and the time left on the clock, while the losing fighter is marked K.O. In one round the panel read COPY NINJA WINS over 3% HP LEFT / 0:44, with that fighter's health bar down at 4 HP and the opponent, ERASER HERO, marked K.O.
The panel is worth reading before you leave the round: the HP percentage and the clock together tell you how narrow the win was, so a win on 3% health is a very different result from a clean one, and it shows how much damage you still had left to get through. The exact numbers change from round to round.
Learn a fighter in Training
If the controls feel like a lot at once, take a fighter into Training. The game offers Training alongside 1v1 and 2v2, and it is a place to learn a fighter's move set without pressure and practice its specials.
